  • Born at 22 to 27 weeks and 6 days of pregnancy
  • Or born at 28 weeks or later with a birth weight of less than 1000 grams (about 2.2 pounds)
  • Must be born at University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC)
  • No serious liver problems or bowel conditions
  • No major birth defects expected
  • Expected to live longer than 72 hours
