Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • You must have had chest surgery that required you to be in the thoracic surgical ICU.
  • You must be very weak, meaning you need help to get out of bed (a score of 5 or less on a mobility scale).
  • You must be between 4 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall and weigh 220 pounds or less.
  • You must not have severe leg muscle stiffness, broken bones, or serious skin sores in areas where the exoskeleton touches.
  • You must be stable enough in breathing and heart function to participate.
