Stent treatment for unruptured brain aneurysm

This study tests a flexible stent (Choydar flow-directed mesh) to treat unruptured brain aneurysms in the neck area of the carotid or vertebral arteries. It is for people whose aneurysm has not bled and fits certain size and shape limits.

Who can take part

  • You have a brain aneurysm that has not burst.
  • It is located in the internal carotid artery (from the petrous part to the end) or the vertebral artery.
  • The aneurysm has a wide neck (neck width 4 mm or larger, or dome-to-neck ratio less than 2).
  • The artery that leads to the aneurysm is between 2 mm and 6 mm wide.
  • You are not allergic to metals used in the stent (nickel, titanium, platinum, tungsten).
  • You can take medications to prevent blood clots, and you do not have an active infection.
