Who can take part

  • You are 65 years or older.
  • You are having an elective (planned) surgery lasting 1 to 3 hours.
  • You will receive propofol and an opioid (narcotic) for anesthesia.
  • A breathing tube will be placed in your throat (supraglottic airway).
  • You can give your own consent to participate.
