Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and had a stroke caused by a blood clot (ischemic stroke).
  • You are able to have a special ultrasound of the blood vessels in your neck and head, and you can start moving with help within 48 hours of the stroke.
  • You do not have a major disability before the stroke (like needing help with daily tasks).
  • You are not having only a temporary mini-stroke (TIA).
  • Your vital signs (blood pressure, oxygen, heart rate, temperature) are stable, and you are alert and conscious.
