Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are in the ICU with a serious infection (sepsis)
  • Your blood sugar was checked at least twice in the 6 hours before you received antibiotics
  • Your blood sugar was checked at least three times in the 24 hours after starting antibiotics
  • You have not taken steroid medications in the last 48 hours
  • You do not have diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), a severe high-blood-sugar condition (HHS), or acute pancreatitis
