Who can take part

  • You (or the donor) had a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia, major depression, or bipolar disorder, or Alzheimer's disease or frontotemporal dementia.
  • For psychiatric disorders: donor was older than 40 at death. For neurodegenerative diseases: donor was older than 50 at death.
  • The postmortem delay (time from death to tissue processing) was less than 24 hours.
  • For schizophrenia: no other neurological or psychiatric conditions, and no history of substance use disorder.
  • The diagnosis was confirmed by a psychiatrist or by neuropathology (brain tissue analysis).
