Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have a blood test showing a strep infection within the last 3 days before joining
- The strep type is one of these: Streptococcus pyogenes, agalactiae, pneumoniae, or suis (or at least 2 bottles for other strep types)
- You are already receiving or will soon receive a beta-lactam antibiotic (like penicillin)
- You are not allergic to beta-lactam or fluoroquinolone antibiotics
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
- You do not have a specific heart infection called infective endocarditis
- Your heart's electrical rhythm (EKG) does not show a sign called QT prolongation
