Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have breast cancer confirmed by biopsy and are scheduled to receive 4 cycles of anthracycline chemotherapy (such as Adriamycin or Ellence) before or after surgery.
- You can start taking dapagliflozin or a placebo before or when chemo begins.
- You are able to have baseline heart tests (echocardiogram), blood vessel ultrasound, a 6-minute walk test, and blood samples taken.
- You are willing and able to sign a consent form.
- You do not have heart failure, serious valve problems, previous chemo or radiation to the left chest, type 1 diabetes, low blood pressure, frequent urinary infections, or severe liver or kidney problems.
