Who can take part
- Your child has a thermal burn covering 40% or more of their body, with second- or third-degree severity.
- The burn's severity score (Frank index) is greater than 90.
- Treatment with the blood filter must start within 5 days of being admitted to the ICU.
- Your child receives enough IV fluids (at least 30 mL per kg) from the start of the study until the first filter session.
- Your child is stable enough to undergo the 6-hour filter session.
- Your child does not have end-stage kidney disease, a confirmed blood clot in the lungs, or uncontrolled bleeding in the last 24 hours.
