Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 30.
  • You have no known lung, nerve/muscle, or heart/chest diseases.
  • You can do deep breathing exercises and give your consent.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You have not smoked more than 10 pack-years (for example, 1 pack a day for 10 years).
  • You do not have swallowing problems, esophageal diseases, or issues with the valve between your stomach and esophagus.
