Who can take part

  • You have typical diabetes symptoms like frequent urination, excessive thirst, constant hunger, or unexplained weight loss
  • Your blood tests show high blood sugar levels (fasting blood sugar at least 7.0 mmol/L, random blood sugar at least 11.1 mmol/L, or HbA1c at least 6.5%)
  • Or, you have had an oral glucose tolerance test showing high blood sugar levels
  • You do not have any serious health conditions that would make it hard to follow the study, such as active cancer, autoimmune diseases, severe infections, or major organ failure
