Who can take part
- You have advanced esophageal cancer that has spread or returned after earlier treatment.
- You are 18 or older and able to take care of most daily tasks (ECOG score 0–2).
- You either have never had a PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor (like Keytruda or Opdivo), or you had one but stopped more than 3 months ago and your cancer has since grown.
- You do not have a fistula (abnormal connection) in your esophagus, active autoimmune disease on treatment, or a history of lung inflammation called interstitial lung disease.
- Your heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys must be working well enough, and you cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You are not on strong blood thinners or having high bleeding risk, and you have not had major surgery recently.
