Predicting delirium after planned heart surgery

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You are scheduled for planned (not emergency) heart valve or bypass surgery that uses a heart-lung machine
  • You expect to stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) for at least 2 days after surgery
  • You are able to speak and understand German fluently
  • You are able to give your own consent to participate
  • You have not had a previous admission to the ICU during this hospital stay
