Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • You are having an ischemic stroke (stroke caused by a clot) and will receive clot-dissolving medicine within 4.5 hours of symptoms starting.
  • Your blood pressure is high: top number (systolic) at least 180 or bottom number (diastolic) at least 100, checked twice within 2 minutes.
  • You do not have bleeding in the brain, recent major bleeding, or a bleeding disorder.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you do not have certain other serious medical conditions.
