Who can take part

  • You must be 18 or older with a confirmed diagnosis of cystic fibrosis.
  • Your most recent lung function test must be at least 40% of predicted, and if it's above 40%, you need to have had at least one serious lung infection per year or signs of severe lung damage.
  • A sputum sample taken in the last 2 years must show one of the listed bacteria (like Pseudomonas or Staph) that is resistant to antibiotics.
  • You must have been able to safely receive IV antibiotics at home within the past 5 years (or the study doctor may waive this).
  • There must be a special virus (bacteriophage) available that can kill your specific lung bacteria.
  • You cannot have untreated tuberculosis or certain other infections, a history of C. diff without a recent negative test, or be pregnant or breastfeeding.
