Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old if you are a healthy volunteer, or between 35 and 75 if you have COPD
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 18 and 32, and you weigh no more than 120 kilograms
  • You are a non-smoker, a healthy smoker (up to 5 cigarettes a day), or a former smoker
  • If you have COPD, your breathing tests show that your lung function is moderately reduced (FEV1 between 30% and 80% of normal)
  • You must use effective birth control if you or your partner can become pregnant
