Who can take part

  • You have stable coronary artery disease (CAD) and are scheduled to have a stent placed (PCI) for a new blockage in a natural heart artery.
  • You have not taken any SGLT-2 inhibitor medication (like empagliflozin or similar drugs) in the past month.
  • You are not currently on anti-inflammatory medications such as steroids, NSAIDs, or immune-suppressing drugs.
  • You do not have an inflammatory condition like rheumatoid arthritis, an active infection, or active cancer.
  • You have not had a heart attack or unstable chest pain in the last month.
  • Your kidney function is good (estimated creatinine clearance above 30 mL/min).
