Balance exercises for diabetic nerve pain

Diabetes Mellitus Type 2

This trial tests two types of exercises to see if they improve balance and daily activities for older adults with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage from diabetes that causes numbness or pain in the feet). You may be able to join if you have had type 2 diabetes for at least 5 years and have nerve damage affecting your feet.

  • You are 60 years or older.
  • You have type 2 diabetes and diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage in your feet).
  • You have been diagnosed with diabetes for at least 5 years.
  • You can walk on your own without help.
  • You do not have other conditions that severely affect your balance or ability to exercise, like a recent foot injury or amputation.
