This trial tests whether a medicine called modafinil can reduce fatigue in people with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. If you have had fatigue for at least 6 months and have had recent tests showing low inflammation and normal blood counts, you may be eligible.

Who can take part
- You have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis confirmed by your doctor.
- You have had fatigue for 6 months or longer.
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have a fatigue score of 11 or higher on a standard assessment.
- You have had a stool test in the last 3 months showing low inflammation (calprotectin less than 250).
- If you are a woman able to have children, you must use birth control and have a negative pregnancy test before starting.
