Who can take part
- You are between 18 and 80 years old
- You have one or more persistent lung cavities from TB or NTM that cannot be treated with surgery
- You either have drug-resistant infection, cavities with other serious illnesses (like diabetes, liver disease, or HIV), or repeated coughing up of blood (hemoptysis) from TB or NTM
- You are able to have a bronchoscopy (a scope through the mouth into the lungs)
- You do not have severe heart disease, active lung infection, asthma, or certain allergies (to nickel/titanium or silicone), and you have quit smoking
