Antibiotic levels in hip infection spacer study

Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for a planned two-stage hip replacement surgery because of an infection around your current hip implant.
  • You have been cleared for surgery by both your orthopedic surgeon and your anesthesiologist.
  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are willing to sign a consent form after learning about the study and its possible risks.
  • You are not allergic to the antibiotics gentamicin or vancomycin, which are used in the temporary spacer placed during surgery.
