Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have had a positive sputum test for Mycobacterium abscessus in the past 6 months, and another positive test at screening.
  • You have at least 2 of these symptoms: chest pain, chronic cough, coughing up blood, fatigue, fever, mucus production, night sweats, poor appetite, shortness of breath, or unintentional weight loss.
  • You have a recent chest CT scan showing lung changes related to Mycobacterium abscessus.
  • You don't need to start standard antibiotics for this infection in the next 6 months, and you agree to take part in a placebo-controlled study.
  • You are willing to use effective birth control if applicable, and you don't have other serious lung conditions like cystic fibrosis or active cancer.
