This study compares two ways to clamp the aorta during off-pump heart bypass surgery to see which is safer for your brain and body. If you are having bypass surgery without a heart-lung machine, you may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older.
  • You have blockages in more than one heart artery and need bypass surgery without a heart-lung machine.
  • You have not had heart surgery before.
  • You are able to have an MRI (no pacemaker or other MRI issues).
  • Your leg vein (great saphenous vein) is healthy enough to use as a bypass graft.
