  • Age between 18 and 75 years old
  • Having lumbar spine surgery (on 1 to 3 bones in the lower back) under general anesthesia
  • Be in generally good health (ASA class I to III)
  • Body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30
  • No use of painkillers within 3 days before surgery, and no long-term use of NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) or opioids in the past months
