Who can take part

  • You are 18 to 55 years old.
  • You have severe nearsightedness (at least -6.00 diopters and long eyeball length).
  • Your vision is not worse than 20/200 (can read large letters on an eye chart).
  • You have specific types of scarring or thinning at the back of the eye, or your vision is between 20/50 and 20/200.
  • You do not have other eye diseases like active bleeding, diabetes in the eye, or glaucoma.
