Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older
  • You have an infection in a hip or knee replacement that was diagnosed less than 4 weeks ago
  • The infection is being treated by cleaning the joint, using antibiotics, and keeping the original implant
  • You do not have a serious blood infection from a specific bacteria (Staph aureus)
  • You are not allergic to triclosan (an ingredient in the special suture being tested)
