Who can take part

  • You have axial spondyloarthritis diagnosed by a rheumatologist.
  • Your disease is currently active (score above 2.1 on a standard severity test).
  • You have not been exercising regularly (less than 3 days a week) for the past 3 months.
  • Your medication for ankylosing spondylitis has not changed in the last 3 months.
  • You are between 18 and 50 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is 25 or less.
  • You do not have any heart, lung, bone, nerve, or mental health problems that would make exercise unsafe.
  • You do not use a walker, cane, or other aid to walk.
  • You are not pregnant.
  • You have no recent history of cancer or surgery.
