Who can take part
- You are 18 or older.
- You are scheduled to have a TAVR procedure (a type of heart valve replacement) under general anesthesia.
- You are not allergic to any of the fluids used in the study (hydroxyethyl starch or sodium lactate Ringer's).
- You do not have severe heart problems (ejection fraction less than 35%).
- You do not have severe kidney problems (needing dialysis or very high creatinine).
