Sealant study: pit and fissure sealing for kids

This trial will see if dental sealants work better on healthy teeth versus those with early signs of decay. If you have a child between 7 and 18 with fully grown back molars that have no fillings, they may be able to join.

Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 7 and 18 years old.
  • They must have fully grown upper and lower first and second molars (the big back teeth) that are matched with opposite teeth.
  • These molars can be healthy or have very early tooth decay (not needing a filling yet).
  • Your child should not have any fillings on those teeth.
  • Your child should not be in braces or orthodontic treatment.
  • They must be willing to come back for follow-up visits.
