Who can take part

  • Your child is between 2 and 9 years old
  • Your child has been diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) type 1, 2, or 3
  • Your child has been in good health for at least the last 6 months
  • Your child can take part in therapy sessions (like sitting on a horse and doing simple exercises)
  • A parent or guardian is willing to sign a permission form
  • Your child does not have a hip problem (dislocation), a horse allergy, or a strong fear of horses
