Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 65 years old.
- You need at least one thyroid nodule that can be measured on an ultrasound and is at least 1 centimeter (0.4 inches) across.
- The nodule must be a certain type on the ultrasound report (category 3) or have been found to be a low-risk type on a fine-needle biopsy.
- Your thyroid hormone levels (TSH, FT3, FT4) must be within the normal range.
- You must have a pattern in Chinese medicine that fits one of these: liver qi stagnation, blood stasis, or phlegm-dampness.
- You cannot have certain other serious illnesses, be pregnant, or be taking medicines that affect the thyroid.
