Liver dialysis for severe acute-on-chronic liver failure

This trial tests a new liver dialysis device called DIALIVE 2.0 for people with acute-on-chronic liver failure (a sudden, severe worsening of chronic liver disease). If you qualify, the device will help filter your blood, similar to kidney dialysis, to support your liver while it tries to recover.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 70 years old
  • You have been diagnosed with acute-on-chronic liver failure (a sudden worsening of chronic liver disease) that is severe (grade 2 to 4) and started within the last 10 days
  • Your liver failure has not improved with standard care in the first 48 hours
  • You cannot be pregnant or have had a liver transplant
  • You shouldn't have serious infections, uncontrolled bleeding, or other major health problems that would make this trial unsafe
