Who can take part

  • You are a man aged 45 to 85, or a woman past menopause (no period for at least a year) up to age 85.
  • You have peripheral artery disease (PAD) with symptoms like leg pain at rest, skin wounds on the front of the foot, or pain when walking.
  • You are already taking daily aspirin or clopidogrel for at least 5 days before starting the study drug.
  • You are willing to have an imaging test like a CT or MRI angiogram showing blockages in your leg arteries below the knee.
  • You are not on strong blood thinners (like warfarin or rivaroxaban) and have no history of bleeding problems or recent stroke.
