- You are between 18 and 80 years old.
- You are scheduled for elective surgery on one arm or hand.
- You are healthy enough for surgery (ASA grade I, II, or III).
- You will receive a nerve block around your shoulder area using ultrasound.
- Your lung function is normal before surgery.
- You have not had neck surgery before.
- You have not taken certain nerve-affecting medicines or strong painkillers in the last 30 days.
