This trial tests whether adding chemotherapy to the drug surufatinib works better than surufatinib alone for people with a rare type of lung cancer called pulmonary neuroendocrine tumor. If you have this diagnosis and haven't had prior systemic treatment, you may be eligible.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You must have a confirmed diagnosis of pulmonary neuroendocrine tumor (typical or atypical carcinoid).
  • You must have at least one tumor that can be measured on scans.
  • You must not have received any previous systemic therapy for your cancer, except chemotherapy given before or after surgery if it was over 6 months ago.
  • You must be in good general health (ECOG score 0 or 1; or 0–2 if you are an amputee).
  • You must have adequate kidney, liver, and blood cell counts as determined by blood tests.
