This study looks at how the angle of your arm during shoulder exercises affects muscle growth in your back and forearm. If you are a healthy adult who already lifts weights regularly, you may qualify to help researchers understand how to make workouts more effective.

Who can take part

  • You must be between 19 and 30 years old.
  • You must have been lifting weights (or doing other structured resistance training) for at least 2 hours each week for the past year.
  • You must be in good general health, with no major heart, muscle, or metabolic conditions.
  • You must not have any metal in your body that would make an MRI unsafe (like a pacemaker or metal screws).
  • You must not be pregnant, a smoker, or on medications that affect muscle growth (like Metformin).
  • You must not have had surgery or tattoos in the last 6 weeks.
