Who can take part
- You must be between 30 and 90 years old.
- You must have either dilated cardiomyopathy (enlarged, weak heart muscle) or ischemic cardiomyopathy (heart muscle damage from blocked arteries).
- You need to be a patient at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) and be scheduled for a heart transplant.
- You cannot have both dilated and ischemic cardiomyopathy at the same time.
- You cannot have arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (a rare genetic heart condition) or a congenital heart defect.
- You must be able to give informed consent to participate.
