This study tests whether taking a small amount of your own belly fat (through liposuction), processing it, and injecting the cells back into your heart can improve heart function in people with chronic heart failure due to blocked arteries. Who can take part

  • You have chronic heart failure from blocked arteries (ischemic) and your heart pumps less than 40% of blood out each beat.
  • You are on stable heart failure medicines for at least 1 month.
  • You are able to have a heart catheterization (a tube to check your heart's pressure).
  • You have not had a recent heart procedure (stent or bypass within 3 months), no severe valve problems, and no pacemaker or defibrillator made before 2015.
  • You do not have recent stroke (within 3 months), serious kidney disease, uncontrolled diabetes, active infections, or cancer (except treated skin cancer) in the last 3 years.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you agree to use birth control if able to become pregnant.
