Who can take part

  • You are pregnant with one baby and at least 20 weeks along
  • You have had belly trauma, a procedure like amniocentesis, or certain pregnancy problems such as placental abruption or preeclampsia
  • Your baby shows signs of anemia, growth problems, or abnormal heart rate
  • Your blood type is not compatible with your baby's (for example, Rh-negative or ABO mismatch) and you have tested positive for antibodies early in pregnancy
  • You do not have a severe blood disorder (like clotting problems) or an autoimmune disease
