Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have prediabetes, confirmed by a blood test (fasting glucose 100–125, or after-meal glucose 140–199, or A1c 5.7–6.4%).
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 20 and 35.
  • Your weight has been stable (no gain or loss of more than 11 pounds) in the last 10 weeks.
  • You are not taking any medications that affect blood sugar, and you have no liver or kidney problems.
  • You drink less than 2 alcoholic drinks per day (about 20 grams of alcohol).
