Who can take part

  • Your child is between 1 and 12 years old
  • Your child is having planned surgery under general anesthesia
  • Your child is healthy (ASA 1 or 2) and not extremely overweight
  • Your child does not have muscle or nerve disease or diaphragm paralysis
  • Your child is not taking medications that affect muscle function
  • You can provide a completed sleep questionnaire about your child's sleep habits
