Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 3 to 5 (moderate to severe, but not yet on dialysis).
- Your health has been stable for at least 3 months.
- You have anemia (low hemoglobin level below 10 g/dL) – this is needed for the main part of the study.
- You are willing to take part and sign a consent form.
- You do NOT have heart valve disease, blocked arteries, uncontrolled high blood pressure (above 180/110), recent heart attack or heart failure, active cancer, or active infection.
