Silver liquid vs nano-silver liquid for stopping cavities in baby teeth

This trial tests two types of silver liquid (one standard, one with very tiny particles) to see which works better at stopping cavities in baby teeth of young children who are nervous about dental treatment. If your child has cavities in their back baby teeth and is too scared for usual dental work, this may be an option.

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 3 and 5 years old.
  • Your child is generally healthy with no major medical conditions.
  • Your child has at least one cavity in a back baby tooth (molar) that has reached the dentin (inner layer) but does not already need a root canal or is not already loose.
  • Your child is very scared or refuses treatment (rated 1 or 2 on a behavior scale used by dentists).
  • You agree to the treatment and sign a permission form.
