Who can take part

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are on the official lung transplant waiting list and need a transplant urgently (rescue/emergency).
  • You are currently on a breathing machine, a heart-lung machine, or need urgent life support for severe lung or heart failure.
  • Your heart function is at least 40% and your kidneys are working well enough.
  • You do not have an active infection or active tuberculosis.
  • You can have a caregiver who will help you after surgery.
