Who can take part

  • You are scheduled for major cancer surgery on your stomach, liver, pancreas, rectum, or similar area.
  • You have at least one health condition that raises your risk of problems after surgery, such as heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, severe obesity, or being very out of shape.
  • Your current fitness level is lower than average (measured by a short questionnaire).
  • You can start the program at least 4 weeks before your surgery and are willing to exercise.
  • You have no unstable heart or lung problems and can move well enough to exercise.
