Unilateral Handgrip Dysfunction

This study tests whether an adapted form of aikido (a gentle martial art) can help people who have trouble gripping because of a hand or wrist problem. It is designed for adults who haven't tried aikido before.

  • You are an adult (18 years or older).
  • You have never done aikido before.
  • You are not practicing any other martial arts during the study.
  • You have a hand or wrist problem (on one side) that makes gripping difficult.
  • You do not have any other physical condition that would make aikido unsafe.
  • You can understand and agree to the study information.
