Testing a breathing drug for exercise-induced larynx problems

Exercise-Induced Laryngeal ObstructionDyspnea During Activity

This trial tests if a drug called ipratropium bromide can help people with exercise-induced laryngeal obstruction (EILO), a condition where the voice box closes during exercise, making it hard to breathe. If you have EILO, you may be able to join to see if this treatment improves your breathing during exercise.

  • You have been diagnosed with EILO confirmed by a special test that looks at your voice box during exercise
  • You can complete an exercise test on a bike or treadmill
  • You have trouble breathing (dyspnea) during exercise
