  • You have been diagnosed with 5q spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), which is the most common type.
  • You are between 8 and 50 years old.
  • You can walk 10 meters (about 30 feet) without anyone's help or a device like a cane or walker.
  • You haven't had any injury or surgery in the past 3 months that would stop you from doing walking tests.
  • You are willing to follow all study steps and procedures.
