Mouthwash as extra help for gum disease treatment

This study tests a special mouthwash (Amphion) used along with standard nonsurgical gum disease treatment to see if it improves your oral health. It is for adults with gum disease who have not had a deep cleaning or used a germ-killing mouthwash in the last 3 months.

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old.
  • You have at least 20 natural teeth (not counting leftover root pieces).
  • A dentist has told you that you have gum disease (periodontitis).
  • You can see, move, and think well enough to take part in the study.
  • You are not currently in braces or wearing a removable partial denture.
